Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken on Bridge Valley Road near Mount Joy, Pa. It is located about 1/4 mile from the covered bridge.

Time

It was at approximately 9 AM on a cloudy overcast day.

Lighting

As previously mentioned the day was overcast which gives a soft even lighting (good for colors).

Equipment

The camera was my Nikon Coolpix. No flash was used, however an exposure compensation of -0.7 was used to enhance the saturation slightly. The brand name of the tripod is Argus.

Inspiration

Like many things in life they do not last forever. As you can probably see the paint is starting to crack and fade. The Evergreen tree in the foreground is now cut down, so I am thankful that I took the image when I did.

Editing

There was very little post processing done on this image other than a slight cropping.

In my camera bag

Along with my Nikon Coolpix, I carry a Nikon D3300 in my bag with 2 kit lenses (18-55mm and 55-200mm).

Feedback

Versatility is sometimes key when going out to take images. Just because it is an overcast day doesn't mean that you should not go out. Take a short drive around where you live and just be mindful of the beauty that you see. Keep certain places in mind for when it snows, different landscapes in the event of a rainbow, etc. The limits are only in your mind so keep looking and shooting.
