Location
This photo was taken, when I was working on my Red Barn Series. This specific barn was located 20 minutes south of Traverse City, MI.Time
This shot was captured on a nearly empty sky on November 22, 2015 at 3:20 pm.Lighting
I prefer to use as much natural light as possible, so for this photo I used the sunset.Equipment
This image was shot with a Canon Rebel 3Ti, 18-55 mm Canon, and tripod.Inspiration
After traveling on so many road trips, my eye was always caught by the red barn in the distance. The gears in my head will start turning, about how this red barn could be so significant. But how to show that significance so that every viewer of the photograph will resonate with that. So for this project I wanted the Barns to be the only part of the image that was worthy of color.Editing
Yes, so for this image i created a saturation layer around the barn, and on the barn as well, so that I could bring the barn out more.In my camera bag
Typically in my bag i will have my T3i, my 18-55 mm, 75-300mm both Canon, 50mm Sigma 1.4 f, a backup battery, and lens cleaner or brush. I also bring a tripod as well.Feedback
Focus in on the Law of Thirds, For barns or other subjects avoid centering the Barn, your Foreground is just as important as your background
