It was about 4pm after I had finished work.Lighting
The sun for once was helpful being behind me so it really helped pick out the acrhitectural features.Equipment
This was shot using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 with its standard lens and me crouching in the bushes at the bottom because I couldn't get any further back due to the fence!Inspiration
I'd been wanting to photograph the Cathedral for a while because it's one of the only historical bits of the old city left after it got bombed during the Blitz. I also love architecture and history. Black and White photography really leant itself to capturing this because it always adds some gravitas and charm I think which helped pick out the stunning craftmanship but gives it the dignity it deserves I think, especially with the sky overhead.Editing
None. At this stage I just like to see what standard of pictures I can produce without manipulating them in any way and try to improve from there.In my camera bag
Usually just the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 but if I am looking for a specific shot then I pack the 58mm Macro and Telephoto lenses I have as well.Feedback
Look for the unique perspective and be prepared to get into some awkward positions. There is probably a science to it, but all I can say is, is that you can usually feel when it's going to be a great photograph.
