This photo was taken on my property, I was going for a walk with camera around my neck, there were a lot of Corellas finding food on the ground we had a lot of rain earlier that day, so it would have bought a lot of bugs up for the birds to eat.Time
It was approximately 7.30 one evening, it was overcast, had a lot of horses on the property and there was a flock of these corellas eating bug out of the soil. I wasn't aware of how close I could get to them before they would move away. I had my camera around my neck , as they started to move I thought I would see if I could capture some shots. I took a few shots of the birds not quite thinking how they would turn out as I didn't have much time before they were all gone.Lighting
The lighting was really good for that time of the evening, overcast, no shadows, no wind.Equipment
This photo was taken from my old camera which was a Nikon D75200 with a tamron lens 18- 270 F3.6Inspiration
I quite often go for a walk always with the camera just incase I can find something to take a photo of, at that stage I liked to take photos of the horses running, but this evening I thought I might take the few photos of the birds. I walked quietly up closer to the birds and they started to move. I started taking photos of them and this is how I captured this one. I think if was more luck than anything else.Editing
I had to crop this picture as I had horses legs at the top of the picture, I lightened it a little. In my camera bag
Normally in my bag I have a monopod, a small tripod, and my camera, and lens, batteries.Feedback
The only thing I can say is you need to be patient as it just doesn't happen straight away, I have tried previously but the birds were too fast for me. You need to just keep trying and don't give up.
