Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken this photo was taken on southbank in London next the national theatre

Time

It was on a very cold afternoon in early January 2015

Lighting

There's not much to say about the lighting for this one. It was a grey day with not much sunlight

Equipment

For this photo I used my canon rebel t3 with my 50mm f/1.8 lens

Inspiration

I was with a friend of mine, Jay. He was taking pictures of the national theatre, not being into architectural photography myself I reverted to one of my other favourite hobbies, people watching, I noticed the stairs leading to the road and people walking up and down like robots and being watched by the cctv. It was as if George Orwell had created the scene himself

Editing

Post processing was pretty simple for this one. I desaturated the image and adjusted the highlights and shadows to create a gloomy scene

In my camera bag

I love street photography so if I'm going out during the day I will always have my canon rebel t3 and my 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. I normally have a bag of nuts to feed the squirrels and the birds because even in the city as long as you have some patience and a steady hand you can get some great shots of the wildlife. If I'm going to be out after dark I'll bring my manfrotto compact action tripod, it's light enough to strap to my bag but still strong and sturdy enough to get some great photos. I usually bring a flash light and my intervalometer as well

Feedback

For me it's all about being in the right place at the right time so my advice is pretty simple. Get your camera and start exploring.
