I took this photo in Huntington Beach, California during spring break, and it was my first time on the beach.Time
After driving over several overpasses from Ontario to Huntington Beach, it was probably around 10-11:30AM when I took this shot.Lighting
At first when we arrived, it was cloudy, but still had some bright sunlight reflecting off the clouds. So I waited until some of the harsh light faded.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon EOS 70D, with a not-so-new 18-135mm lens.Inspiration
I personally never have been to the beach before until that spring break. I enjoyed exploring around the pier finding different things. I wish I spent a little more time getting different angles (had to crop out people too), but it was a lot of fun to get a new scene to shoot.Editing
I did some enchantments:exposure, contrast, color adjustments. I also had to crop out some people. I wish now I would've edited this differently and lighten it up some, so there's an updated photo on my profile (enchantment adjustments [exposure, contrast])In my camera bag
I don't own a lot of gear, but I usually run my 70D with my 55-250mm lens with a lens hood. I also have a kit lens, 18-55mm that I use (rarely), but works well for the wide angle shots.Feedback
I'd recommend to anyone shooting is explore and use composition techniques to capture something unique. Take photos of different angles, play with lighting and just have fun with it.
