I took this beautiful picture in the garden in front of my home a couple years back. It was one of the first shots I had ever taken on my iPhone 5s.Time
It's quite funny actually. I barely remember it was so long ago. At the time I thought this was such an insignificant image. I remember simply walking outside on a sunny day in Spring snapping pictures on my phone and stumbling across this beauty.Lighting
I wasn't going for a specific feel in this picture so I didn't really give the lighting a second thought. Since I am a very amateur photographer, I depend on my eye to take captivating shots. Not editing programs or equipment. Especially because at the time all I had was an iPhone. No computer, no fancy camera, just a phone. As I was gazing across the yard examining the flowers I noticed such a beautiful balence of sunlight and shadow on this flower. The cullumbine was almost calling to me to take it's picture, just as wonderful pictures often do.Equipment
An iPhone 5s. I focused on the flower, and the iPhone automatically blurred the background creating a lovely soft focus.Inspiration
Again, it was kind of out of the blue that I found this shot. I just wanted to captivate the calm and beauty of such a wonderful spring day. It certainly shows the brightness and warmth of spring :)Editing
Nothing. No editing at all.In my camera bag
Back then, when I took this picture all I had was an iPhone. Now a days, or for the past 5 months, I've had a Cannon Rebel T5 body and two lenses. I have a Cannon 75-300mm zoom lenses and a cannon 18-55mm lense.Feedback
I am going to change this question a little bit. I have advice for people in my position. Listen, if I was an absolute amateur, wasn't even confident about about the basics of a camera yet, and randomly took this picture with an iPhone 5s a couple years ago, there is no reason why anyone can't try photography. It just goes to show, you don't need fancy equipment or professional knowledge to take an sweet picture. As long as you've got some type of a camera and a good eye, there are endless possibilities in the world of photography. It doesn't matter how old you are or how much money you have, photography is an art everyone can enjoy and that is why I appreciate it so darn much. Just find a moment and capture it, that's all it takes. This is the advice I give and follow. I mean who would have known this little picture from years ago taken with a phone would earn me an opportunity to be featured on a huge photography blog!
