On our way back from Kyoto, we made a breakfast pit-stop in Biwa and met a friendly Japanese man who told us the history of Hikone Castle. Not only did I get this great, eerie shot of Lake Biwa, but just like that, a stop at Hikone Castle was added to our itinerary! I love spur-of-the-moment things!
