Behind The Lens

Location

Well I was taking photos outside in the garden on a beautiful sunny day, after about on hour I noticed through the patio doors Doug was sitting on the the kitchen table watching my every move. As I walked up to him he seem so peaceful, with the warm sun shining on his face I sat beside him and just watched him. Thats when I noticed his face, it just looked like he was smiling, so content with the world, and then snap! a memory caught for a lifetime.

Time

It must of been mid afternoon, as the sun slowly fades behind my house. It's my favourite time of day.

Lighting

With the sun just peering behind the house, beautiful light rays and dark shadows occur. When I saw Doug sitting there, a ray of light was perfectly shining upon him. It looked like he really enjoys the warm heat on his face.

Equipment

I used my Olympus E-M5 Mark II, 14-42mm Lumix Lens, free hand.

Inspiration

It's odd, nothing inspired me to take the photo is was just a spur of the moment thing that i noticed, in my opinion I believe they can be the best shots. Not knowing what your going to capture just adds to the adventure of what you might find.

Editing

After looking at the picture I released two copies, the original untouched and the image you see here. I uploaded it into adobe Lightroom, changed it to black and white and adjusted the levels to bring out the black.

In my camera bag

I started off with a Canon 60D with a bunch of lens, but I slowly converted over to Olympus, but as its an MFT mount I currently only own one Lens for it at the moment which is the Lumix 14 - 42 mm.

Feedback

The most simplest advise...just keep shooting. No matter what it is, we all have unique styles, so share it with the world.
