Location
I took this during my vacations in the Falkland Islands, February 2015. These King Penguins lived at the penguin colony in Volunteer Point.Time
It was late in the morning. It takes about 3 1/2 hours from Port Stanley, most of the journey is off-road.Lighting
The weather was awesome, I was quite lucky during my stay there - just one day there was fog and rain.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel XSi with a 75mm-250mm lens.Inspiration
I love penguins!Editing
I usually use Paint Shop Pro to reduce camera noise and sharpen details, but not in this photo. In my camera bag
My Canon XSi, an 18-55mm and an 75-250mm lens, a pair of fully charged batteries and a spare memory card. For photos at night, my trusty tripod as well.Feedback
I always find that taking photos of wildlife are quite a challenge. You have to be aware of their behavior and try to capture their nature in camera, be part of the environment. The photo is then just the reward of that!
