Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while out for a drive along the Cavendish coast in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Several foxes love to come out when they hear cars driving through the national park in hopes someone will have a handout for them.

Time

This was taken one afternoon while out for a drive. It was taken from the open window of my car, so I was able to use that as a balance to keep my hand nice and steady.

Lighting

Time of day is major when taking landscape photography. The position of the sun can mean everything when trying to capture the subject.

Equipment

This was shot on my Fujifilm using my car window ledge as a tripod.

Inspiration

I love to take wildlife photography and these inquisitive foxes are fantastic subjects. They love to check me out just as much as I do them. Stay quiet and steady and they will pretty much come to you begging for a picture.

Editing

I do very little post-processing other than maybe exposure if the lighting isn't optimum. Occasionally a little bit of contrast is necessary as well.

In my camera bag

I don't pack a lot of extras. Normally, I wouldn't even take a tripod. My fujifilm isn't anything really fancy but it is all I need to have fun and take some exciting shots with the 50x zoom.

Feedback

I normally don't set out trying to find a subject, however, my camera is never far from my side. I see something that I enjoy and love toshoot it so that I can share that beauty with everyone else. Landscape and wildlife are my passion when it comes to photography. With wildlife the biggest challenge would be patience, patience and more patience! With landscape photography, the natural lighting is a big key, so the time of day can be very important.
