Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken during a snowy day, walking around with my girlfriend. I always try to capture different images and try different processing styles.

Time

This image was taken after noon on the first snowing day of that year, right after Christmas.

Lighting

The lightning was perfect that day with the clouds acting as a big softbox.

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a EF 100mm F2 lens.

Inspiration

The weather and the lightning that day was perfect to create a beautiful story.

Editing

I usually use Photoshop for post-processing to apply different color effects and dodge and burning. This time I also used it to create the vertical motion blur effect on the trees for a more dramatic look.

In my camera bag

I always prefer to walk around with my camera and one or two lenses, so my choice is usually the Canon 5D Mark II with 24-105 F4 lens and a 50mm 1.4 or the 100mm F2 lens.

Capturing this image is not that hard. All you have to do is find a place that fits this kind of processing, a place that has something to tell, a model (can be any of your friends) and a little inspiration.
