Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken a few years ago during Fan Expo Canada in Toronto

Time

I don't recall exactly what time it was, i think it was during the early afterrnoon on the Saturday event, the busiest day of the whole weekend. Tryingto navigate the many aisles and tables, flocks of visitors and nerds having fun, so i wasn't prepared for this vision. I literally stopped dead on my feet to admire the absolutely beautiful Vera Bambi (the cosplayer in the photo), and then finally got to meet and talk to her.

Lighting

Well not much t osay, the interior of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is pretty bad for lightning, and being that busy, it was not feasible to bring a tripod with softbox and strobe, so i spent the the whole weekend taking photos with a external flash on top of my camera, and the results were great all considering.

Equipment

I had a Canon T51, with a Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di VC, Youngnuo external flash 560 IV

Inspiration

It was just so perfect, her posing was basically flawless, she literally looked like the real Vampirella, almost as she came alive from the comic book

Editing

Not at all

In my camera bag

Nowadays i upgraded my gear a bit from those days, I do use a Canon EOS RP mirrorless full frame, with my main lens a Tamron 35mm f/1.8, also i do have a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and a Canon 24-105mm f/4 L. I do have also a Lume Cube i mostly use on top of my camera, a Newegg light panel, Manfrotto tripod, and extra batteries and SD cards

Feedback

Well normally conventions are not the right place to do photoshoots cause there's too many people around, not good environments to plan shoot, and mostly too much fun stuff to see, so just got weith a good flash, good attitude, be patient and make your shots count!
