Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at a location in North Central Oklahoma near Ponca City, OK

Time

Spotted this scene earlier that day and decided it would make a great sunset shot so I went back around 5:30 pm and took several shots. This was my favorite.

Lighting

The lighting was just natural sun light.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon P610 on a tripod. I also used a Hoya Intensifier filter. No other equipment was needed.

Inspiration

I got into photography as a hobby 1 year ago and enjoy nature and scenic shots.

Editing

This was shot in real time. No post editing was needed.

In my camera bag

When I go out on a shoot I always take my Nikon P610 with a lens hood along with a tripod. I also carry a set of filters (polarized, ND, intensifier) and of course, extra batteries.

Feedback

Shots like this are not difficult to get so long as the conditions are right. I've found that high thin clouds bring out the most color. Patience is also very important as scenes like this don't just appear they must come together over a period of time. Due to the movement of the clouds along with the setting sun several different scenes are created therefore I always take multiple shots to get the one I like the best.
