Location
This is taken in the Rocky Mountains from the Trans Canada Highway just outside of Banff Alberta.Time
I was driving across Canada moving from Ottawa to live in BC when I took this. I cannot remember the exact time but I do remember being shocked by the beauty before me. It was one odf those moments that I will never forget.Lighting
It was natural light but getting the photograph to be perfect I used a trypod.Equipment
I used a Nikon D70, Nikon zoom lense ( 50 - 200) and trypodInspiration
The inspiration was just seeing it and wanting to capture that moment of excitement forever. I had my camera by my side for the entire road trip from Ottawa to BC. I had to pull over and get out of the car very quickly as I was afraid that the lighting would change very quickly.Editing
I did some exposure correction and contrast / brightness adjustments. I used curves in Adobe Photoshop to create more drama. In my camera bag
I have a Nikon D 7100 as well as my Nikon D70. I use 2 lenses ( Nikon 18 - 300 and Nikon 50 - 200) and I have added a fisheye lens too.Trypod is usually packed along with spare memory cards.Feedback
I think I got lucky for this shot, I happened to be driving by at the right moment. I have spent many hours waiting for sunsets, moonrise etc but this time there it was , right in front of me. Being prepared with all my camera equipment at the ready makes it easier to get a shot like this when the lighting changes so quickly.
