Location
The photo is taken through thick (1 inch) glass in Givskud Zoo in Denmark. The story behind the title 'Sad Eyes' is that this pack of gorillas, had lost their leader - the 'Old Silverback', Samson - 1 week earlier, and his Wife here was for sure very sad and 'just sitting there'Time
Picture is taken around 4 o'clock in the afternoon.Lighting
She was sitting in the shadows with a little bit of afternoon light coming in, which gave a super lightning. Så nothing added from my sideEquipment
Handheld shot w. Olympus OM-D E-M1 w. Olympus 40-150 f2.8 Pro @64mm, 1/320 and ISO 200Inspiration
It was 'a walk in the zoo', and I was just looking for animals with a good expression - and wanted to hide that pic was taken of an animal in captivityEditing
I ran the photo through NIK Sliver EFEX and took doon the shadow are and blacks a bit - and added some clarityIn my camera bag
I stick to my good old m43 passion, so either my Pen-F with a small prime over the shoulder or my loved Olympus O-MD E-M1 mk II with the fantastic 12-100 F4 Pro. I try to avoid bags, and just have a camera and a lens - and some batteries. That said I more or less all Olympus Pro Lenses - so I CAN pack a back..... but seldom doFeedback
