Location
This picture was taken in Lake Louise Alberta, inside Banff National Park one of if not thee oldest National Parks in Canada.Time
This picture was taken just as the sun was rising over the Victoria GlacierLighting
I use only the natural light of day for the most part and on occasion my built in flash. As most of my shots are from a hike I do not have the ability to carry with me a lot of equipment.Equipment
It was taken with a Nikon D 40 my first DSLRInspiration
I had the pleasure of working at The Chateau Lake Louise and it was my good fortune to have this view to enjoy every day. The view of the Glacier and the lake was an ever changing canvas that always left me inspired.Editing
This picture was taken several years ago when I first began my interest in photography. The only processing was performed using Picassa photo editing tool a very basic free tool available through Google.I found as a beginner it was a great basic introductory tool.In my camera bag
My bag is equipped with several standard Nikon lenses a 70-300/, a Nicor 60 mm micro,a Nikon 70- 105, and a Sigma 70-300 Macro lens. as well as a filter kit, a lens cleaning kit. I also keep one of my tripods handy which one depends on the terrain of my hike and the subject I am trying to capture.Feedback
To capture a landscape you should understand how the light comes into play at different times of day and to search around the site to get the desired angle you are most happy with. There is also my favorite tools luck and a high volume of shots. I seldom delete any shots from my camera till I have had a chance to view them on a good monitor. I have found I often find a gem out of shots I was going to erase from my memory card in the field, If you have the ability to visit a site you love often there is a much greater chance of catching the perfect shot.
