I see them daily, and I could never picture them being captured in such a way, until now. Brilliant work!

Location
Well I took this photo South side off the River Thames at the Barrier. There is a nice foot path that runs along side of the Thames which everyone uses for running & cycling. Worth a look just for the view.Time
I always take photos looking through the Thames barrier with the O2 Arena & Canary Wharf in the background but on this day I made my mind up to just take the Barriers them self & the Sun was going down so I didn't have much time.Lighting
I wanted a warm & evening feel to it so I was there when the Sun was going down at the time.Equipment
I use my lovely Canon 70D & my Canon 17-40 L lens which is my work horse.! I did carry a tripod but not sure I used it this time..!Inspiration
I've seen a few on photography websites & new that I could do my own version & already had this in mind when I was there photographing it.Editing
Oh yes I always edit all my photos doesn't everyone..?? Well I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 & Lightroom 5. CS6 was the main software I used on this photo. The sky was a little plain so I used Radial Blur on that. Plus the water was uninteresting as well so I knew I had to give a reflection which I knew was going to be hard work as each Barrier are at different levels so I sat down & got to work using Layers on each Barrier starting from the back. I was 30 minutes in & only done the 1st one & thought I better SAFE my work as you never know when things can go badly wrong like a power cut..!! Anyway after about 5 hours work & 3 cups off coffee I had finished. End result looked a winner, but I always have a break for 15 minutes & then come back to it with fresh eyes & see if I need to edit the Levels or Sharpen any part before I upload it.In my camera bag
Depends on what I'm photographing, but mainly my Canon 70D & my Canon 17-40 L lens, plus I have Canon 24-70 L II Lens as well. 3 barriers, 3 SD cards, lens wipes & lens blower. Travel light these days as it doesn't matter what camera bag you have its always too heavy...!!Feedback
taking a photograph & getting interesting angles is always a good start, but you need to have some good software to edit your photo to make it stand out. I'm self taught & spent many hours on Youtube learning how to use the software & looking at other peoples work.
