I take a self portrait every 2 or 3 years and it was time for a new one. I made the room dark, used a Yongnuo 560 flash in the hotshoe, but flashing up and to my left. This way the flash would bounce of the wall and I'd get this diffused and dramatic lighting. I really like it, and that's all that matters.
