Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in at the Destin Army Infantry Center Recreation Area. We were on vacation with my mom, step-father, brothers and sisters and their kids.

Time

It was in the evening and we were all outside enjoying the beautiful sky and meeting the people around the campground.

Lighting

I loved the reflection coming off of the water and how the bird was more of a silhouette.

Equipment

I was using my Nikon D90 at the time. No flash and no tripod.

Inspiration

I love taking and sharing my photos so that others can enjoy seeing through my eyes what beauty God has surrounded us with. Everyone can use a little reminder sometime and you never know who will see this photo and feel the same way you do about it.

Editing

I cropped the photo so that the bird would be centered but the rest I left untouched.

In my camera bag

I wish I could say I always have my D5500 but sometimes I only have my iphone on me. But usually if I am driving someplace I haven't been or am not familiar with I will stick my D5500 in my purse with my 55-200 at the least in my bag.

Feedback

Practice!! And take lots of pictures! even if you think they may be the same. Play with your manual settings if you are not familiar with them. The more you "play" with your camera the better you get to know it. For me at least every camera I have had has a life of its own. Don't be afraid to experiment because that is where some of the best photos come from! And don't be afraid to think outside of the box!
