i went to a cafe bar in the city of Prague the lift wasn't working at the time so i looked up to see how many flights of stairs and there it was ..my lightbulb moment so to speakTime
it was on my last day in Prague early afternoonLighting
As you can see there is lighting on the stairs but the main lighting was from the top through a skylightEquipment
I just had my canon 550d no flashInspiration
As soon as i saw it i knew it was something special,it was a bit of a trail to get down and lie on my back while creeping though the stairwell with a lot of people looking at me and not seeing what i was seeing.Editing
Bit of processing from LR wanted an old Victorian look as the building was built in and around 1910,over exposed the skylight so it looked brighterIn my camera bag
I was only getting back into my photography after 20 years break this was taken with just the canon 550d and the standard 18-55mm lens since then ive gone for the canon 5d mark ii i carry around with me a sigma 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8.I still have the 550d if i need the extra zoom on the telephoto lens as its light enough to carry.Feedback
since taking this photo with architecture im always looking for a different way to look at something,i was at the river in Prague by the Charles bridge that evening and seen 4 guys with all their set up tripods etc (it was a night shoot) taking photos of the same part of the bridge so i just thought theres got to be better viewing from else where which there was.So be different take the postcard shot but also look at taking something no one would think of even if it means getting down on all fours and crawling on your back lol !!!
