The 'Niagara Scow' in the churning maelstrom of the upper cascade rapids,on a cold (minus 27 C) evening. That is steam rising from the Niagara River. The scow broke loose from the tug Hassayampa on Aug.6,1918 with two men aboard and grounded at this spot just above the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The men were rescued-the scow remains.
