Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken from Mount Victoria in Devonport New Zealand on a cold winter evening. Camera used was a Canon 5d MKiii on a tripod with a low shutter speed to take in the street lighting as well as Auckland's dock front lights.

Time

The photograph was taken around 6 pm on a good clean winter night.

Lighting

I tried to take in the street lights as well as Auckland city lights, i enjoyed the difference between the sodium and incandescent lights giving a different look.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mk3 on a tripod with a 24-70 f2 lens

Inspiration

I was inspired with the different coloured lights and the glowing sky.

Editing

Lightroom was used to compensate for the low shutter speed and possible grain

In my camera bag

Canon 5D MK3 and 7D MK2 with a 24-70 and 70-200mm lens. Tripod or bean bag depending on how i feel.

Feedback

It took days to get the right sky colours with much frustration of a very plain sunset till this happened. I generally spend most my time in close, always take a look at what else you can add to that perfect picture.
