After trying for three years, at last I was able to capture this phenomenon today. This happens only for 2 weeks in the month of February in fully airborne Horsetail Fall on the Eastern side of El Capitan in Yosemite. You have to be lucky enough that there is water, there is sun and mostly the sun does not go behind cloud during 10-15 minutes window of sunset.

Today it was all sunny but the sun hid behind a patch of cloud just before the sunset and then came out for couple of minutes before it fully set. From this angle, it seems like the whole Eastern El Capitan became alive with its orange hue. If you like it please follow me at sohel.photograpgy on Facebook.
