Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture when I was at a friends house for their kid's birthday, it is overlooking Lake Erie. This picture was actually taken on a cell phone, but I do have a Canon Rebel T3 that I taught myself how to use.

Time

We were just getting the bonfire started at dusk and I turned around and hit my boyfriend to turn around too and saw this amazing view. We were just on the hill enough to see the lake at the bottom as well. This picture doesn't do that day justice as it was a gorgeous sunset.

Lighting

It was basically a lucky shot with the sun going down and the clouds.

Equipment

For this picture I actually caught it on my Samsung s4 phone. I wish I had of had my Canon Rebel with me, but it still turned out an amazing picture.

Inspiration

I just wanted to capture the moment. I've seen so many sunsets and have so many pictures of the same thing, but this one was different. With the clouds and the colors I wanted to make sure I got it.

Editing

I didn't do much to this, I think I took this from Instagram and had put a filter on it but I can't remember which one.

In my camera bag

At the time I didn't have my camera bag with me.

Feedback

I don't have much advice. I'm still learning and am in no way en expert on taking pictures. I tell people that I just get lucky and end up with some pretty good pictures, which was kind of the case for this one. I guess the only advice I have is, if you think it make a good picture, take it. If its not then delete it, but you never know until you try.
