Behind The Lens

Location

Just passing through -- somewhere on the drive to Yellowstone National Park from B.C..Canada? -- one of several old abandoned buildings around the country, so not exactly sure.

Time

Likely mid- day ...

Lighting

It was sunny but the haze in the background was from the fires burning from Canada to the US. Terrible year for fires.

Equipment

This was shot with a Sony A35 - on Auto - on Scene/Picture Effect - on sports action.......Just driving by -- so lucky (or quick enough) to get it.

Inspiration

I just love the "old" abandoned buildings across the country. Their are several. I have taken quite a few and just blew up two others to mount on my wall at home. It just looked so lonely. Loved the sun on the golden wheat fields, the bird in flight (if you hadn't noticed) and the hazy sky from wildfire smoke. Oh, the stories it could tell.

Editing

No

In my camera bag

Don't even carry a bag most of the time. Just carry my camera - Sony A35. I'm still on the amateur level as far as advancing to manuel and using other equipment...ie a zoom/telescopic -- don't even have one but consider it frequently.

Feedback

Have camera in hand as driving by. Sometimes I see something in the distance and ask my husband to slow down some so I can capture it. Otherwise having your camera set properly for action shots works.
