Behind The Lens

Location

This mysteriauos place built in late 19th century have bad memories. The Ninth forth is a stronghold in the northern part of Šilainiai elderate, Kaunas, Lithuania. It is a part of the Kaunas Fortress.

Time

That day I was siting near the window and thought that it would be a great golden our for that place atmosphere. It was about 8pm and I jumped with photo equipment in the car to go shoot that magic moment. At the place I was about 8:30pm.

Lighting

I haven't mach time to catch that moment then some red sun highlights covers clouds, that was important to creat this place mysteriuos athmosphere.

Equipment

I used tripod, it was to hard to do this by hand

Inspiration

I want to reveal this palce historical emotion, that was the key of inspiration

Editing

I use some post procesing with Lightroom. Put some highligts spots, increase wihites and shadows, use some colors saturation, put more clarity. I like to do lanscape photos close to HDR style.

In my camera bag

For the landscapes I usualy use widh angle lense, this time I used Tokina 11-16 F2.8 with my Nikon D300s camera. To get object all sharp I used thees setings F8, 1/30s, ISO-200

Feedback

I think to get something similar mos important is to catch that lightning moment, it takes about 10mins and you shoul be right there at the right place that moment, if you late even a litle bit you don't get that athmosphere on final photo.
