Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken downtown Manhattan, NY. I was in Wall Street district on the 27the floor overlooking Brooklyn.

Time

The photo was taken around 8pm in December.

Lighting

.

Equipment

This was shot on the Nikon D300s with my new Tokina 16-28 F2.8. No tripod, but I do wish I had one with me.

Inspiration

I had just received my new wide angle lens for my birthday and I could not wait to try it out. My husband invited me to come by his job to try to catch both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. I didn't have my tripod with me, so it took several shots to get a steady enough hand to capture this photo.

Editing

This photo was taken spontaneously but after I took it, my parents wanted a city landscape photograph for their living room. So I toned down some of the orange from the fluorescent lights, and I enhanced the white balance for a more dramatic effect.

In my camera bag

My camera, which I most recently upgraded to the Nikon Df, then my Tokina 16-28 F2.8, and Nikkor 50mm F1.8

Feedback

Bring a tripod. Shoot Raw. Be patient.
