This is a sunset photo taken just as the sun was about to go down.Lighting
The lighting that night was fantastic! It had been storming during the day which left me with great clouds to photograph with the sunsetEquipment
This was shot with a Nikon D200 and was hand held.Inspiration
I had planned on taking sunset pictures that evening and it worked out perfectly.Editing
I did a bit of post-processing. I had to take out two fisherman with cast nets. For this I used Photoshop. I enhanced the colors and textures with a program called Topaz.In my camera bag
I normally carry just what is needed unless it is a paid shoot. If its a paid shoot I bring two of everything. Two camera bodies, two flashes and extra lenses. I always have in my pocket a lens cleaning solution and cloth. Especially at the beach wear the lens can dirty fast!Feedback
My advice to anyone trying to capture a sunset image is : Wait don't rush it Come back another day if you have to Look for clouds, right after a storm works really good, in fact I tell brides that if it looks like rain they will end up with a great sunset !
