Location
The Shot was taken on Ambleside beach in North Vancouver CanadaTime
I took this picture around 2pm . I just got my new wide-angle lens and wanted to try it out . I like to sit at this old log and relax and always wanted to take a picture of it .Lighting
I didn't have much light that day because it was kinda cloudy and even started raining later that day . the light was just enough during this short time to take the shot and capture the atmosphere of the day .Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 70d with the efs 10-18 mm lens . No other equipment was used .Inspiration
I just got my new wide-angle lens and wanted to try it out . I like to sit at this old Tree stump and relax and always wanted to take a picture of it . I always liked the shape and the texture of the stump and wanted to capture it .Editing
I used Photoshop Lightroom to process the picture. I had to bring some more clout to the sand , turned down the shadows a little bit added sharpening and adjusted the white balance. In my camera bag
I have a canon 80d now after I sold my canon 70d . i usually carry my 10-18 mm wide angle lens for landscape shots and also have a canon 70-200mm f4 IS lens for animal shots or people . If I go hiking I take my 18-135mm lens as I only have to carry one lens , and this lens covers a pretty good range .Feedback
I was looking for leading lines in this Picture to draw the viewer into the scene . Try to create triangles with the leading lines and think of the rule of thirds to make a nice composition . Shooting this picture from a lower angle and being close to the the tree stump makes it look bigger .
