Beautiful shot. I love that you angled it the way you did. Perfect :-)

Location
So this shot was taken on my 1st trip to Iceland. Out hunting the lights is a very rewarding and fun,but also very, very cold. It was around -14c when I took this.Time
This was shot around midnight, the lights are not the most predictable things, so you can be out for hours and not see anything, other times they can just be there. Maybe I was just lucky.Lighting
All the lights are natural from the sky. All I did was point and shoot and hope.Equipment
Canon 6D, 24-105, (my tripod had actually broken due to a fall on the ice, so this was stabilised on the ground!)Inspiration
Iceland is such a stunning country, especially for photography. I wanted to show the vast open spaces and even the sea, but really trey to give the sky and lights scale upwards as well as length.Editing
Lightroom and photoshop were used to eliminate slightest light pollution and give the sky a really black feel. Other than that, its all as seen!In my camera bag
My trusty 6D, a nifty fifty and 24-105 plus a 70-300 go everywhere with me. I carry a travel Manfrotto and a couple of flashes and a sender. I also squeeze in a 40mm pancake lens and an intervalometer. 14mm lens is next!Feedback
DARK, dark skies. Cloud free and check the aurora forecast. (Or pay to go on a tour, but i just drove) Keep and eye out whist driving, get in to the countryside, park safely, wrap up WARM, aim up and enjoy!
