Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in woodland close by to where I live.

Time

The photo was taken early evening on what had been a beautiful spring day. My partner and I had decided to take a walk as I was teaching her the basics of how to use the camera.

Lighting

Whilst explaining to my partner about aperture and how it can help with sunsets etc. I just happened to look over my shoulder to catch the perfect example.

Equipment

My old panasonic gf3 with the 18-55mm lens handheld.

Inspiration

The photo was taken as an example whilst helping my partner to understand the various functions of the camera.

Editing

The foreground detail in the photo still showed a little too much light, to balance things out I dropped the shadows in Lightroom to gain the full silhouette effect.

In my camera bag

After a recent upgrade my bag is now filled with a Nikon d3300, Nikon 50mm f1.8, Nikon 55-300 VR and a Sigma 150-500. Landscape shots aren't usually my thing as I tend to favour wildlide.

Always wait that little bit longer after the sun sets.. Thats when you get some truly spectacular colouring
