Location
This photo was shot in Bor Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra, India. It is the smallest Tiger Reserve in India. I am basically Orthodontist by profession and a passionate wildlife photographer.Time
This was shot in the evening of summer at 17:35 hrs.Lighting
I was in my personal gypsy and was aware about presence of Tiger in that location. Around 14:30 hrs I reached at the lake-side with my guide. After waiting for nearly an hour we heard an alarm call from Spotted Deer, this confirmed the presence of some predator nearby. I decided to wait for more time, the light was fading as time passed by. I was calmly waiting in hot summer fully drenched in perspiration. My infusion proved right when the tigress "Katrina" was sighted . She was such a gorgeous female. I started making images, and within some time to my surprise and excitement a male Tiger called, "Bajirao" followed! I was the only vehicle and this gave me the opportunity to adjust my vehicle for best shot. This couple also became comfortable with my presence and posed for me in the best possible way. The light was not great but was diffused under a shade. This forced me to push ISO to get reasonable Shutter Speed.Equipment
Nikon D4s Camera and Nikkor 400 mm f/2.8 . No flash or any kind of finger was used. I shot from base of the vehicle to get nearly an eye-level that.Inspiration
Tiger is the apex predator and the most beautiful animal on this continent. It is solitary animal, so getting a couple together is something very special. By far this is the most memorable Tiger imageEditing
Little enhancement in Adobe Camera RAW. No major change and no cropping was done to maintain the originality and authenticity. In my camera bag
Two camera bodies, Nikon D4s and Nikon D 500. Three lenses , Nikkor 400 mm f/2.8, Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 , Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 Also I keep 1.4x converter handy.Feedback
Patience is the key in wildlife photography.
