sunsets are brilliant for learning how your camera behaves. In manual mode, i adjusting one thing at a time allows you to see what it does - i was playing with aperture and white balance settings on the camera. the aperture was closed right down at f/32 and 1/2000 shutter speed limited the amount of light that got through the lens
