Location
This photo was taken in my home studio in Carrara, Italy. I am a self-taught photographer and I like to try new methods to give personality to my images.Time
This is one of my favorite pictures because I like the flowers and the pink color :) This photo was taken around 11:30 a.m.Lighting
I used a natural light coming from the window at the top of my studio.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 5DMkIII, with 100mm f/2.8L macro, tripod and precision slider.Inspiration
I like to shot artistic macro (flowers and the reflections in the water drops) ... but this image is one of the first made with the focus stacking method ... I wished to separate the water droplets of the sharpness background.Editing
I made a sequence of 14 shots (1sec, ISO400, f/10) by moving the precision slider and I merged the shots with a focus stacking software (I used Helicon Focus). After stacking I applied levels and masks for a few little adjustments in Photoshop. In my camera bag
The first thing that I always have with me is a Canon 5DMkIII with my favorites Canon 100mm 2.8macro and Sigma 35mm 1.4Art. The third, but no less important is my lens Canon 24-105mm 4.0 factotum, the tripod and a precision slider.Feedback
To take a similar capture, the first thing of all is to find a stationary subject and to get all the images in a stacking series in manually focus at the exact same conditions and parameters: aperture, ISO, shutter speed and white balance; then it required a lot of patience, a steady tripod and a precision slider. Finally a software to merge the images ... and the work is done!
