Behind The Lens

Location

Cirsium discolor, also known as Field Thistle blooming in a field in Tennessee.

Time

It was late morning, around 11:00 AM.

Lighting

I love capturing blooms when the angle of the sun seems to make them glow.

Equipment

I like to keep things simple. This was shot with a Canon PowerShot ELPH.

Inspiration

I'm all about angles. I like to study subjects in nature and try to discover which angle features their beauty the most.

Editing

I used very basic post-processing software to simply enhance the contrast. Nature did the rest.

In my camera bag

Just my camera. I love the PowerShot ELPH because it easily fits in my back pocket so I can whip it out anytime I see something photo worthy in my daily wanderings - all while keeping up with a toddler.

Feedback

Spend time in nature. Slow down. Get closer.
