Many doves nest in my yard every year. Every once in a while, I pay attention! :)

Haven't been here in a while..... Thanks to all the "likers"!

Once, one of these babies fell out of its nest. Knowing a neighbor was harboring feral cats that would feast on the young doves, I felt I had to do something. So I picked it up and tried to calm it down. Next thing you know, we had a relationship! I put it down and it followed me all over the yard! Where I went, it went! Well, I knew this couldn't last, and I decided to take it to a local pet shop to see if they could care for it (as they had for many baby cockatiels). I found out later that the chick had survived and had been given to the Audobon Society! It is illegal here to have \"pet\" game birds or other wild birds. The cats missed this one!
