Location
This photo was taken in Windsor Great Park, not far from the Queens residence Windsor CastleTime
This photo was taken at sunrise, after checking the weather the night before it looked like it was going to be a promising sunrise. I got up early and drove to the park. Its a twenty minute walk to the location so it was a rush to get there in time, when i arrived there was a light mist jsut as the sun was rising, I just had to find the deer in the right location.Lighting
The light that morning was pretty good that morning, made better because there was a slight mist which was perfect for catching silhouettes of the deer.Equipment
This shot was hand held as I had to move quickly to get into the best position for the deer, it was taken with my Nikon D7100 and 18-140mm lensInspiration
Having met some very good photographer that inspired to take some shot of the local deer. As I have several deer parks fairly close to home it is worth getting up early to get some shots of my own.Editing
All my shots are processed in Lightroom and Photoshop before uploading them to my phone and further process in snapseed before uploading to Instagram. In my camera bag
When I am shooting deer I normally travel light with my camera and a second lens, although if I am doing a landscape or night shoot will carry a range of lens and tripod.Feedback
To capture these sort of shots it helps to keep an eye on the weather, if it looks like it will be a good sunrise get in place early to plan for the best location. Even better scout the location before hand so that you know where is likely to be the best spot. Shoot in manual and measure the light of the background, manual focus on the foreground interest, deer or a tree. Play around with the exposure until you get a good silhouettes.
