This photo was taken in the forests of Sussex EnglandTime
This shot was taken at midnight. There is a nice amount of light coming from a small city in the distance.Lighting
This was an interesting one. I shot this at midnight on a 30 second exposure at 3200 iso. I then lit the tree with the flash from a black berry. It had a strong green cast so when I color balanced it the sky came out a beautiful pink.Equipment
I used a Sony a 7, a Nikon 14-24mm. And a blackberry for lighting. I also used a vital series 3 tripodInspiration
I as walking at night in Sussex England and noticed this lone tree in the middle of a field. So I went for a shotEditing
It actually took very little post processing. I spent about 10 minuets on it. Basically since I lit it with a greenish led from a blackberry the sky took on a nice pinkish tone with the color balance. I then added some vibrancy and then selectively took a bit of saturation out of the tree to make the contrast starker. In my camera bag
I usually carry with me a lot of different set ups for what I, doing. If I'm shooting portraits or event type stuff I have my Nikon d810 and a set of lenses from, 14-200. If it's architecture I use my canon 5ds with my 17 ts and if it's street it's my Sony with whatever lens I have laying around.Feedback
It's really simple. Find an object you would like to shoot against the night sky which is not lit at all. The. With your camera on a tripod use a 30 second exposure at around 3200 iso and light paint the object with your camera light from whatever smart phone you have. Color balance it in Photoshop and you'll get a similar effect.
