Overcast skies make the mountains of Antarctica appear monochrome, except for a small ribbon of blue ice within. This scene was photographed from a zodiac hand held with a polarizer, which emphasized the dark charcoal color of the water. This photo was taken in Paradise Bay, Antarctica in December 2015, and is NOT actually black and white.
