Location
I took this photo in my bedroom, right next to a window where the sun directly comes through in the afternoon before sunset!Time
It was taken in the late afternoon, around 5:00 when the sun has a softer light.Lighting
This photo was pure experimentation for me. When I saw my dog Clifford sitting next to the window and how the light was hitting his reddish-brown furry face, I knew I had to snap a photo. I also made sure that all of the other lights were off in my bedroom so that a shadow on the other side of his face would be present.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3000, and 18-55mm lens, nothing else!Inspiration
It was spur of the moment! My dog has such a unique colored fur and the way the light hit his face at that second was absolutely breathtaking, so I knew I had to capture it! All the warm colors in this photo were visually satisfying.Editing
I made minor adjustments such as cropping and adding matte filter that I used in Lightroom. In my camera bag
I took this photo with my Nikon D3000. Since then that camera was stolen and I now have a Nikon D7000, a Nikon AF-S DX 18-55mm lens, Nikon AF-S DX 55-200mm lens, Wide Angle Lens, 2X Telephoto Lens, Close-up Lens Kit, and a Lens Filter KitFeedback
What I love about photography is that I get to share with everyone how I see the world. When I find something that is visually interesting, I grab my camera and capture it! My advice would to do just that, snap all the photos you can, there's almost always a royal gem that comes out of it!
