My mom and I went out to Aspen for our annual October trip, and the day after we arrived it snowed heavily. Maroon Bells was closed (because of the government shutdown) so the gondola in Aspen was offering free rides. Here's a view of Independence Pass. The mix of fall colors and frozen snow was spectacular!!
