Location

This was taken at the defunct Freedom Grandstand in Iloilo City, Philippines on the occasion of the 2013 Annual Dinagyang Festival.

Time

At around ten o’clock in the morning under cloudy skies of January 2013, I took this shot.

Lighting

As this was an occasion filled with so much action and fast movement of performers and festival dancers, I set my shots on auto focus.

Equipment

I was using my Nikon D-3200 fitted with Tamron 70-300, hand held sans tripod.

Inspiration

I was a neophyte photographer (and I think I still am) and wanted to test the limits of my camera as well as the capabilities of Tamron 70-300.

Editing

This photo is as is and was as it was— no processing, no editing whatsoever.

In my camera bag

I still have my Nikon D-3200 though it is now fitted with a Zigma DC 17-50. I only wish I could afford to have a Tamron AF70 telefoto zoom.

Feedback

Be familiar with your turf. You may need to know the place just to find out when and from where the sun rises and sets. Patience, have great deal of patience. Take your time. Keep cool. I twice lost great chances because of wasted bytes before the right moment to shoot came!
