Location
This was taken in the fall in the N.C. Highlands. This is a beautiful drive up long winding mountains full of beautiful colors and people from all walks of life. There are many scenic stops near and even under waterfalls. If you've never been to the N.C Highlands may I suggest a few things to consider prior to an adventure you'll always remember? First, you'll need a trim vehicle with a confident skillful driver. The mountains here are treacherous. Your vehicle needs good breaks, a great transmission and must be overall dependable. There are no shoulders or places to fix a flat.Time
I shot this picture later in the afternoon probably around 4:30 pm. Taking a picture is simply the beginning of the capture. Play with the development of a picture until the scene is as you remember it in your minds view. No picture comes out perfect but you can adjust and play with the image until it becomes what you remember or want it to be. That's the beauty of photography. It's actually, the second best part of photography.Lighting
Lighting can make or break a picture. Shoot the same scene in several different times of day if possible. You'll be amazed at how different each picture may look. Ironically, there will be a different beauty in every shot.Equipment

"Playing with the picture" is more than half the fun. Todays computers "tweak" images beautifully! Save a copy of an original picture but don't be afraid to create a new and unique image of the same shot. Have FUN expressing your feelings through photography. Always carry your camera when going to new or beautiful places. Capture the images that you are blessed to see, chances are others will be blessed as well! Show the world what you find creative, interesting or soothing. You can always erase an image but you can't always go back to shoot the same shot.
