Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken early Sunday morning July 2015 at the Annual Balloon Festival in NJ. The wind was blowing east that morning and I was able to capture the sunrise with the hot air balloon.

Time

Out of all the pictures I was able to take that day, this one was by far my favorite. It was taken around 6:40AM.

Lighting

I wanted the focus of the picture to be solely on the sunrise and hot air balloon. I wanted it to feel as peaceful as I did that day while taking it

Equipment

This photo was taken on a Sony Cyber?Shot DSC?HX200V. No tripod or flash were used.

Inspiration

The sunrise itself inspired me. Just being there and being able to see that beautiful view was so peaceful and inspiring to me that I wanted to capture it and share it with others.

Editing

No picture ever comes out perfect right off the camera. Some come close, but there is always room to perfect it. I always correct and balance the colors and make it look similar to what my eyes saw. After I do the corrections, I enhance it to make it more vibrant and happier.

In my camera bag

Its usually me and my Sony HX200V. If I'm planning on taking long exposure pictures, then I bring along my tripod.

Feedback

The advice I would give is to take as many pictures from as many angles as you can. Because something that may appear dull in the beginning may have more potential than what you initially thought. A camera is not automatically able to capture a picture with the same amount of light and color as the human eyes can. Its only after correcting the color balance, exposure and levels that one is able to see the beauty of the photo.
