Northwoods Central Park NYC. A beautiful historic landmark in the Park from the 1700s.Time
I was on a walking tour with a New York City Park Ranger Rob in early afternoon the end of November 2015. A bright sunny very mild day late fall day.Lighting
Wonderful dappled sunlight through the trees lit up the old stone building casting beautiful color and texture on the old stones. This structure sits on one of the highest hills in the Park.Equipment
My bridge Canon SX520HS camera on manual settings; Hand held ISO 125; Aperture 3.4Inspiration
The beautiful light and historic stone building with the roof gone and the interior being reclaimed by the park. The Ranger had the key and we explored the inside for a rare opportunity to see the look-outs tiny windows for their long gunsEditing
Yes a minor boost on the exposure and color. In my camera bag
Always a lens cleaning cloth, a small water spray bottle and a tiny flashlightFeedback
Always return to a location to shoot in different light and conditions. I have photographed this Block House many times in the last year and this is the first shot I am truly happy with...except for the slight tilt as the building has settled in the last 250 years.
