I really like the shadows on the snow in the foreground and the color of the wood used on the barn. Very nice contrast.

Location
This photo was taken on a very crisp winter morning in Steamboat Springs, ColoradoTime
Early morning, I wanted for the sun to rise and then have the sun behind a thin layer of clouds to help filter out all the harsh lightLighting
Lighting was all natural via the sunEquipment
Nikon D810, Sigma 24-105mm, Induro, CT314 tripodInspiration
The almost 38 inches of fresh snow that fell over the days before I took this image really helped to give the foreground a very pure and pristine feel while the old historic "More" barn sits at the foot of the mountains...I loved the way the light was hitting the fresh snowEditing
Yes, I process all of my images because I shoot in RAW and use Photoshop as my digital darkroom. This image only needed basic adjustments such as slight color, contrast, and I brought the highlights down just a tad...In my camera bag
I have a pretty basic list of gear I am currently using Nikon D810 Nikon 200-500mm Sigma 24-105 Rokinon 14mm Induro CT314 TripodFeedback
Be patient, don't rush, wait for the right light. Don't take bad photos and hope to make them better in photoshop.... shoot lots of different compositions of the same scene, moving a little to the right or left can make a big difference. walk around your subject if possible and shoot from all angles
