Behind The Lens
Location
This picture was taken at Kuang Si Falls in Luang Prabang, Laos. I did a 35 days trip to the Southeast Asia with my family last year ant it was a great opportunity for me to improve my photographer skills.Time
This picture was actually taken at a not so good daylight, it was 11 A.M. But the light actually looked good because it's a place with a lot of trees and I was using a neutral density filter to get a beautiful effect on the water and anded up blocking some of the sunlight.Lighting
Neutral density filter are essential to make beautiful shots on really bright days.Equipment
It was shot with a simple camera, I use Canon EOS Rebel XSi, an old Canon camera. I had just bought the new Canon 24mm pancake lens and it was actually nice, clear, lightweight lens, so much better than I expected. As I mentioned I also used a Hoya neutral density filter. I did not used an tripod on this on, I simply rest the camera on the a wood that prevented people from falling the the fall.Inspiration
I knew the fall was well know but most of the pictures I saw were taken ate another point that has more pools, but in my opinion this part of the fall is more appealing, so I decided to put it on the spotlight.Editing
I did some small color corrections at Camera Raw and that was it.In my camera bag
After packing my camera, my first lens option is always a 50mm 1.8, it's my favorite lens and if I only had it I would be happy. Now I also have the 24mm 2.4 pancake and I'm enjoying it. I normally take my 3 years old with me on my photographs trips so I avoid taking to much weight. I also take a small tripod, an polarizer filter and a neutral density filterFeedback
Have calm and use a neutral density filter.
