That's the pitch where I used to play football with my friends in the suburbs of Catania, Sicily. Life is not easy there and chasing a ball dreaming to be the next roberto baggio is what we normally did.

Location
The photo was taken in Catania, in the small pitch beside the church of the suburb area where I grew up.Time
It was in the afternoon, the pitch is opened for kid for a couple of hours few days a week by a group of volunteers trying to keep them away from the streets. I decided to come back in that place because was shooting for my photography project "Sense of place"Lighting
There's no particular light used in shooting the picture just natural, I waited until the sun went down and wished for some clouds, As clouds pass by, my time there when I was just a kid passed by.Equipment
It was a canon 600D with a 17-70sigma lens, no other equipment involved.Inspiration
I wanted to show the places where I grew up trying to tell how difficult was live there for a kid, stay away from the street playing football and dreming about to be the next Roberto Baggio but also the importance of frindships and good family.Editing
I wanted to enphasize the rust, creeps and all signs of the passed time so I used the HDR technique from the 3 shots, so I shooted at best speed possibile standing still as much as I can. A sepia tone was added to even more add a sense of past times. In my camera bag
In the last periods I love to carry my canon 6d with the standard 50 f1.8 and go chasing streetphotos.Feedback
