We were in Flagstaff, AZ on Monday, January 18, 2016 and saw this unusual lenticular cloud over the mountains nearby. An aviator friend of mine described it as a standing lenticular cloud, formed by the winds going up over the mountains and forming a cloud at dewpoint. He also said that flying through this formation would be very turbulent. We just enjoyed the rare nature of this cloud formation.
